Hand Painted
Recycled Tin and Beaded Pin
Craftspeople
from Kenya created these little dangling dancing girl earrings from copper
recycled telephone and car engine wire and shiny scrap tin. Brightly colored
glass beads decorate her hair, neck, arms and legs.
The
talented craftspeople are part of the Jua Kali sector located in Kisumu,
Kenya. They often labor under the "hot sun" as the name implies.
This is a fair trade item. The pins are finished by TEMAK (Teen-Age Mothers
Kisumu.
The
earrings hang from a ball and coil hook and measure 2.5 inches long from
the top of the hook.
The photo is
representative of the item, as these are handmade, each item will be slightly
different.
