Shona Serpentine "Mother and Child" Sculpture
This beautiful sculpture is hand carved from green serpentine stone by master Shona artist, Fungai Gwena.
The sculpture depicts a mother carrying her child in the traditional way, on her back.
The polished stone is colored in shades of green, black and some reddish green and contrasts well with the roughness and beige color of the "cloth" holding the child.
