This unique sculpture is hand carved from a single piece ofgreen serpentine stone by master Shona artist, A Makopa.

This life-like sculpture captures the benevolent expression of an African chief. His features are exquisitely and intricately carved.

The highly polished stone is beautifully colored in shades of green and orange-brown with black mottling. The smoothness of hisface contrasts well with the roughness of his hair and beard, adding depth and texture to this wonderful sculpture.
