Shona Black Serpentine "Dancers in the Rough" Sculpture

This beautiful sculpture is hand carved from brown serpentine stone by a master Shona artist from Zimbabwe.

The artist has created this wonderful piece by only polishing an abstract couple dancing in the center of the stone. The outer portion of the stone has been carved as a frame and left unfinished to show the stone in its natural state.

The beauty in this piece is the contrast of the smooth polished stone and fluidity of the dancers to the rough natural stone framing the dancers.
